Abbey is a found dog. We don't really know her story as she was so heavily matted and covered in fleas and ticks when found her. It would appear that she was lost for months and months but she did not require trapping. She is such a friendly girl that she walked right up to the car so this could be a case of abuse. Her collar was slightly embedded into her neck so she had a sore neck for the first couple weeks. Needless to say we spent one month looking for her people and no one appears to be looking for this sweet girl.
She is a young girl guessing at about 18 months and has personality PLUS!!! She gets along with other dogs. A little leary at first but none of that small dog syndrome, carrying on until she trust her new canine friends. She currently is fostered with one dog but hikes daily with two other big dogs and another peanut like her. She doesn't really use the pee pad because she prefers the great outdoors. We know she does well on a harness because of her injury from the collar. She now walks great on her martingale collar and loves her sweaters. The only downfall of her is that she is always looking for food and seems to be always starving so you have to beware that she doesn't get into enormous amounts of food and if you have another pet the food can not stay down. There will be no grazing in Abbey's family. Also note that she is also living with a cat. She is very curious but this cat wants nothing to do with her. Abbey is not showing any signs of wanting to chase or harm the cat just over abundance of curiosity. She is looking forward to a permanent home with someone who will include her in their lives.
